heimdall-flash-frontend software package provides tool for flashing firmware on Samsung Galaxy S devices - Qt GUI, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install heimdall-flash-frontend
heimdall-flash-frontend is installed in your system.
Make ensure the heimdall-flash-frontend package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep heimdall-flash-frontend *
